Terms
The terms covering use of this website and the basis on which CyberVeyl provides services.
About these terms
- Explain who the terms apply to and confirm that specific engagements are governed by a separate signed agreement, not by this page.
Use of this website
- Cover acceptable use, and state that the content here is general information rather than security advice for any particular system.
Authorization for security testing
- Restate the core rule: testing is only ever carried out with written authorization from the party responsible for the systems, within an agreed scope and agreed rules of engagement.
- Explain that the client is responsible for confirming they have authority to authorise testing — including obtaining permission from any hosting provider or third-party platform involved.
- Confirm that CyberVeyl will stop testing immediately on request.
Scope, deliverables and limitations
- Be explicit that security testing assesses a defined scope at a point in time and cannot identify every possible weakness.
- Avoid any wording that implies a guarantee of security. Nothing here should promise prevention of breaches.
Confidentiality
- Describe how client information and findings are kept confidential in both directions.
Fees and payment
- Set out how work is quoted, invoiced, and paid, and what happens if an engagement is cancelled or rescheduled.
Liability
- Have this section drafted professionally. Liability wording is the part most likely to cause real problems if copied from another website.
Governing law
- Name the jurisdiction whose law applies and where disputes are handled.
Changes to these terms
- Explain how updates are made and how people are notified.
